Yes I've been around the block, sitting in this chair and that chair,but I  promise never to let another set of hands have me again! And I accept that you will have to put your hands in other heads. But so long as you stay easily accessible and continue to keep me bouncing and beautiful I won't ever stray.  I'm on bended strand asking you for your hands in matrimony. Asking you to take care of me and style me like only you can. I can't go back to my dull frizzy dry life I had before you.

Over the years I have had some really horrific haircuts, styles and of course hairstylists and I had had ENOUGH! I decided to Google the top rated stylist in the DC area and finally stop the abuse! At first I must admit that I wasn't fully trusting, but I decided to give it a try despite my fears. After reading so many glowing reviews, I decided on Ms. Vonetta and it is truly the best decision I could have made.

I have not had a perm since August 2008 and was ready for the "big chop". I prayed that it would at the very least be a decent cut that I could hopefully work with, but she truly exceeded my expectations. I have been a couple of times and I have honestly never had to wait more than five minutes from the time that I walk through the door and check-in. The salon is extremely clean (as quickly as hair hits the floor, it is just as quickly swept-up). The staff is very professional, polite and accommodating.

Vonetta is amazing with her shears and is beyond doubt a gifted stylist!! My haircut is absolutely fabulous and anything but average! The most important part is that she actually knows hair and works well with my natural texture. She is very professional, really sweet and I instantly felt at ease. I honestly feel like she cares about the health and maintenance of my hair, which I am totally not used to. Also, most stylists can be a little scissor-happy, but Vonetta made sure to confirm with me, while I looked on, to ensure that she cut no more and no less than what I told her. I am soo happy that I found her and Salon Revive. My search is over! Please believe the hype!!

In the past five years living in northern VA, I've visited over 5 stylists and salons...and none can match the skill and talent of Vonetta Dumas.

I have relaxed hair, which seems to be easier to maintain, but the chemicals were taking a toll on my already-dry and overprocessed hair. Vonetta educates her clients on how to achieve and maintain healthy hair. I am pleased with the cut, her instructions for my daily/weekly regimens, and the overall health of my hair. My hair has body and bounce! It has never looked this good! I've never had a long wait at my scheduled appointment time and I've always left the shop within a reasonable time (1-2 hours). Vonetta is DC's best and definitely worth the drive from Prince William Cty to Northwest DC!

I've been going to Vonetta since April 2009, and my hair is healthier than it has ever been. I have worn braids and weaves most of my life because i just didn't like the texture of my hair. I would get tired of the weaves, try to strengthen my hair, and always end up back to the weaves. My hair has gone full circle from being straight, natural, and straight again. Even in its natural state it was very unhealthy.

Vonetta has been working with me to get my hair restored. I remember the first day I went to her i cried my poor little eyes out because i just didn't know what to do. Now I'm loving and rocking my short and healthy hair. Vonetta is a great stylist because she asks for your input, and she gives you advice on how to maintain your hair.

So let's talk about how important a good stylist is to your overall self image. They are angels that we often take for granted... that is until we lose one and can't seem to find another. I returned to MD after being away for a little while and it took 35 really bad salon experiences to finally find Vonetta Dumas. I think I have become an expert on salons in the greater DC Metro area, and have yet to find anyone that understands that FLY doesn't equate to GHETTO. I have pretty short hair that I try my hardest to keep up. I have no problem paying the cost to ensure that my hair is manageable, healthy and above all else super fly! (Hey, I'm in my twenties, what can I say). I read up on Vonetta through a random search engine and learned that she had a facebook page with pictures. (Highly advised, her work speaks for itself). I went out on a desperate limb and made an appointment. She took care of my friend and I and I left the salon more than happy! She's amazing to say the least. She does a great job looking at your hair and fitting your cut to your face (as oppose to the alternative, which I had been dealing with for months). She is a stylist with experience, knowledge and heart, she really makes it her business to cater to her clientele. She has become my stylist of choice. I highly recommend her to any and everyone concerned with spending money wisely on a great investment... you!

I will be the billionth person to rave about Vonetta Dumas, but I can gaurantee I will not be the last. She is fantastic. I came in after reading all the reviews on how amazing she is and I told her this too. I have had only 2 good hair cuts in my life (Vonetta now being the second). The first words out of her mouth, besides thank you, were "If I'm not good for you then I'm not good at all." It is rare to find a person who actually cares about pleasing the client rather than thinking they know best. Just because a person knows more about hair than me doesn't mean they know more about my hair than me.

My hair was long, it was lifeless, damaged, dry, frizzy, all around gross. I was afraid to cut off so much but we talked about what would be the best length for me to grow my hair long and healthy. We picked a spot and she didn't go even a centimeter above or below. My hair hits my shoulder blades, has body, layers, and pizazz.

She listens and understands. She is perfect. Hands down the nicest, friendliest, and most importanty the best hair dresser I have been in contact with.

I already made my next appointment to get my hair highlighted by her! I can't wait!

Vonetta Dumas is Supercalifragilisticexpeallidocious...FOR REAL! I am SO in love with my new hair and YOU need to go see her. She is completely in tune with her profession and left me feeling so confident that I was in the right hands...literally! My hair was a dull blonde and she gave it this vivacious red flame that compliments my skin tone so lovely...I've never received so many compliments on my hair color and the style is just too cute for me.

I am transitioning to natural so it was a relief to me when she introduced herself and said she was transitioning a lot of her clientele to natural.

I got a moisturizing treatment and sat under a steamer. She then blew my hair out WITHOUT the harsh heat. She cut my hair and gave me versatile bangs...love them! Overall I am very happy and will go back.

Also the salon is very professional but laid back. Might I add...clean!!

I have natural African American hair (i.e. no relaxer) and was in need of a nearby salon (i.e. near Howard University) where I could get my hair done well for a reasonable price. Vonetta was great, she truly gave me the best customer service I've experienced at any salon. She was very attentive and concerned with how I was feeling throughout the process. Additionally, she gave me a great little head and shoulder massage.Her service is on point as well as her styling. I got a trim and press although there was very little flat iron usage my hair came out great and the trim gave my hair a much healthier appearance. She listened to my concerns and performed amazingly!!!

Vonetta Dumas has been my hair stylist for over 14 years. If you take into consideration the fact that I'm only 25 that in itself speaks to her talents. She first became my stylist while in our hometown of Cincinnati and I'm overjoyed that we now both live in DC. I'm sure flying home twice a month to see my stylist would get pretty expensive! What I love most about going to Vonetta is that she listens and takes my personal style into consideration when we're coming up with a new look. A few years ago, I had to go through a major change and chop off the shoulder-length hair that I'd had my entire life. I was extremely nervous about how it would look and more nervous about how I would feel afterwards. Vonetta was the only person I trusted to cut and style this new look. She took my long hair and transformed it into a fabulous 1-inch pixie cut. I was thrilled and it only reminded me of why I've been going to her for so many years. Not only did I love the cut, I received (and am still receiving) the sweetest compliments from family members and even strangers. You know your stylist is amazing when people stop you on the street asking, "Who does your hair? Would you mind passing along her card?"
